Those who do not learn from the past are doomed to repeat it- but what if no one is there to teach the past?
We call it the moon. They call it Levania. Two hemispheres, two Clans. The nomadic, power-based Clan of Deep Waters that inhabited the harsh Privolvan hemisphere, and the sedentary, ritual-based Clan Under the Volva, who are lighted by the Earth on the Subvolvan hemisphere. Ages ago, they lived in a golden time. They shared friendships, traditions, and lived together peacefully.
Then, disaster struck. Cats from each Clan sought to take power and rule all of Levania. They forged a deal together and began gathering followers. Eventually, they staged a coup that failed, but the damage was done. The trust of both Clans in each other was shattered, and fights and malevolent rivalries began to occur with frightening regularity. The violence escalated until the leaders and Healers of each Clan went to the Grove of Star-speaking and prayed to their ancestors, the Clan in the Forest of Stars to bring the fighting to a cease. They complied, but at a price. Each Clan forgot that the other existed. They were both banished to thier own hemisphere, and were forbidden to cross over to the other side. Even the greatest of friendships turned into dreamlike memories and kit-stories, except to the leaders, the Healers, and the Gifted of the Clan Under the Volva. They and their successors alone knew the truth.
Now, ages and ages past, when even the most faithful Healer is beginning to suspect that the other Clan is a myth, a few cats of each Clan are persuing these legends again, trying to discover if they are real, trying to unite Levania once more. However, they do not seek to recreate the golden age. Their goal is to re-enact the desparate, dark time that split the Clans up in the first place.
But for the few Levanians who know what these cats are doing and are against it, it has become a race against time to keep these evil cats from discovering things that should remain hidden, gaining powers not meant to be found, and succeeding in their dark quest. They must not fail. The fate of Levania itself hangs in the balance.
The time is ripe to reunite a world...
...Or to break it apart forever...
