Name of Cat: Rose.
Gender of Cat: Female.
Age of Cat: 28 moons.
Mate of Cat: Kalder.
Personality: Despite the hardship and heartbreak she's been through, Rose is sweet and friendly. She's trusting, which is perhaps her greatest fault, and always willing to lend a paw to the Clan cats. Despite her Clan roots, she enjoyed the life of a loner.
Her best friend is another cat called Kalder. She'd give her life for his if the need arose. The reason she wasn't left behind in the territory of the Season Clans was because she didn't want to abandon Kalder and face the burden of betraying his trust in her for the rest of her life.
She's rather thoughtful, but her mouth tends to run ahead of her brain. Rose often speaks what's on her mind. She's recently began being more diplomatic, even if she should have developed the trait a long time ago.
Appearance: Having grown out of her soft kit fur long ago, Rose is a sleek-furred pale ginger she-cat. Her fur sheds water easily from life in two Clans in which fish was easy fresh-kill. She's rather proud of her pelt and attempts to keep it well groomed.
Darker spots of ginger fleck her back, mainly along her spine. Rings of ginger encase her long tail and she has a white chest and forepaws that have whitened over time, but definitely not of age as she's only nineteen moons old.
Some would say she was built for flight, not fight. But of course she has no wings and she can fight, so she doesn't really understand the saying. Smooth muscles, softened slightly from her three moons with Twolegs, but ready to spring back to their normal hardness that comes with a feral cat.
She's a fairly pretty face, mismatched blue and green eyes set in her skull. Large ears that she never quite grew into sprout from her head, able to rotate like all cats in all directions. Her claws are longer than average for a she-cat.
History: She was born far away from this place in a Clan called FireClan. SkyClan, SwampClan and LeafClan also shared the land with FireClan, but SkyClan was becoming greedy under Sunstar's firm lead. They began hunting on FireClan territory when Rose was little more than a kit by her mother's side, missing her two brothers, who had supposedly died. Supposedly.
She was taken from her mother's side at five moons, one moon before the traditional six because of FireClan's shortage of warriors. She only trained for two moons before being stolen by SkyClan along with another apprentice, Silverpaw.
Held prisoner in the clutches of SkyClan, she befriended an apprentice who was the cat responsible for bringing the two fresh-kill and guarding them. The cat's name was Cheetahpaw and Rosepaw began to enjoy the apprentice's company despite the tense situation she was in.
Despite her budding friendship, she and Silverpaw attempted to escape SkyClan. Silverpaw was killed and Rosepaw was recaptured and her wounds were treated by Thinsong, the medicine cat of SkyClan.
As soon as she was well enough to run, at eight moons, she attempted another escape. To her surprise, she succeeded, but was quickly chased by a patrol of SkyClan warriors. Using cleverness and the skills she had picked up from watching SkyClan apprentices train, she evaded her pursuers.
Just when she thought she was victorious and she could return to FireClan, one of the cats in the patrol found her and almost killed her. She escaped the battle with a deep gash in her flank and the knowledge that she could never return to FireClan unless SkyClan delivered her broken body.
So she fled. What else could she do?
The wound became infected, and she nearly died from the tainted gash. It was only her weak knowledge of herbs from Thinsong that saved her life and her leg. As soon as she could move again, she kept going.
Bedraggled and pitifully thin, she arrived in a strange new territory where four Clans dwelled: WinterClan, AutumnClan, SummerClan and SpringClan. She found herself starving in a ditch, unable to even catch a mouse to feed herself.
It was a WinterClan warrior, then called Scarface because of the ugly scar over one of his eyes, that rescued her. For the third time in her short life she had almost died. He caught a mouse for her and allowed her to eat it before asking about her. She gratefully explained, and Scarface took her to Ironstar, the leader of WinterClan.
Having received many loners and rogues into his Clan, the iron-hearted tom almost denied her request to join WinterClan. It was Glasspaw who came to her rescue and convinced Ironstar to let the weary apprentice stay.
For another moon she was nursed back to health by Dustweb, WinterClan's medicine cat. There she learned many more herbs that would help her in the future. Scarface became almost a father to her, checking in on her often and protecting her with a fatherly love.
During her stay with Dustweb, Rosepaw learned of Scarface's real name. Desert Warrior Storm. She decided to call him Storm instead of Scarface, defying Ironstar's cruel naming in the process. Eventually Desert Storm was given his real name back, given Rosepaw as an apprentice and made deputy of WinterClan. In the meantime, a new Rogue Clan called DarkClan sprang up.
Rosepaw, taught in FireClan to fish, went to the Pond when she was feeling fit and met a young apprentice from DarkClan there. Patchpaw was her name, and even though she was hostile at first, Patchpaw warmed up when Rosepaw offered to teach her how to fish.
The two became friends and met at a Gathering. They sat side by side, chatting like good friends, and then Rosepaw noticed another DarkClan cat looking around for a place to sit where he could feel comfortable. She offered him the place beside her, scooting closer to Patchpaw to make room for the dark furred tom. She soon learned his name was Kalder Rogue, a name that felt strange on her tongue.
She was happy for some time with a good friendship and a budding one in DarkClan.
But then something went wrong. A landslide killed many WinterClan cats and the Clan was disbanded. She was claimed by SpringClan, but couldn't seem to fit in with the SpringClan cats. She felt her true calling was in DarkClan with Patchpaw and Kalder.
And so when she met Striker, a DarkClan warrior, near the edges of SpringClan territory, she joined DarkClan with Wolfstar's blessing. She felt like she fit in here, and changed her name to Desert Rose in honor of Desert Warrior Storm.
While patrolling DarkClan, she came across a scent she had missed for so long. Desert Storm. With a purr of pure joy she located her beloved friend. He joined DarkClan, as the old leader Moon had been his leader in his old Clan.
Fairly soon she became a warrior, about a moon after Patchpaw, who changed her name to Turtlespine, and Kalder. She was happy in DarkClan and turned down the chance to rejoin WinterClan.
Once again, it could never last. Twolegs in with white pelts invaded a Gathering. Rose was stabbed by one if their steel claws and was dragged to safety by an apprentice in her Clan, Kanek Darkdust. Kalder was not so lucky and was stolen by the Twolegs at the Pond.
Of course he escaped, but with a shoulder wound that refused to heal despite her best efforts to treat it. Then Moonstar vanished and Desert Storm was made leader of DarkClan, but shortly after he himself disappeared, never to return. DarkClan was disbanded, and its members became loners.
Meanwhile, the Season Clans received strange messages that they had to leave their current territories and travel to the light over the ocean, which just so happened to be a new home near the beach. Kalder's shoulder wound hadn't healed and soon became stiff and infected. While they were hunting, Twolegs appeared. Rose couldn't bear to leave Kalder to their mercy, so she stayed with him and allowed herself to be captured.
The Twolegs moved, the whole thing taking about two moons. They settled in a stinking Twoleg nest and were planning to breed their captives. When the two refused, and it was plain that any kittens Rose had would be feral in attitude, they decided that both would take a visit to the Cutter.
But Rose and Kalder had other plans. They broke out of the flimsy nests their Twolegs had been planning to transport them in and escaped before they could be taken to the Cutter. They fled the Twoleg nest and escaped from the Twolegplace, then found themselves in the midst of a StormClan, who let them pass.
A moon or two passed and the two decided to have kits. Three kits were born, and named Maple, Cloth and Rielle. Currently the kits are six moons old.
